Lima scabra specimens are known for their vibrant red mantles and flowing tentacles, creating a fiery, pulsing appearance as they open and close. They are generally considered the more durable option in captivity and adapt well to established reef systems. Ctenoides ales, often referred to as the “electric flame scallop,” is famous for its mesmerizing flashing display — a wave-like electric shimmer that travels across the mantle, producing one of the most unique visual effects found in marine aquariums.
