About this item

Dragon Soul Indo Gold Torch

The Dragon Soul Indo Gold Torch (Euphyllia glabrescens) is one of the most coveted and iconic Indonesian Torch morphs in the entire saltwater hobby. Long, flowing tentacles glow in a striking combination of vivid neon green with contrasting deep purple to violet tips — a color signature completely unlike any other Torch morph in the trade, and one that reads with dramatic intensity under actinic and blue-heavy reef lighting. Some specimens also display a neon green mouth for added contrast at the base of the coral. The Dragon Soul is instantly recognizable to serious Torch collectors — the vivid green-and-purple signature has made this one of the most sought-after Indonesian Euphyllia morphs in the reef hobby.

What makes the Dragon Soul Indo Gold Torch such a prized collector piece is the combination of extraordinary color saturation, genuine rarity of origin, and dramatic tentacle movement. Dragon Soul is wild-collected exclusively from a limited range of Indonesian reefs, with emerging Indonesian aquaculture only just beginning to meet the intense collector demand for this morph. The result is a coral that is both visually unmatched and genuinely scarce in the trade — the kind of piece that anchors a serious Torch collection or Euphyllia garden display. The tentacles sway continuously with the flow, creating an ever-changing dynamic display that no other coral silhouette in the hobby quite matches.

Dragon Soul pairs beautifully alongside contrasting Torch morphs to build a curated Torch garden — the vivid green-and-purple signature reads dramatically next to the vivid orange-and-green mouth expression of NY Knicks Torches, the deep red-and-gold saturation of Hellfire Torches, or the classic gold expression of base Indo Gold Torches. All Torch-to-Torch pairings are generally safe with light spacing, allowing collectors to combine multiple premium morphs into a single Torch garden display. Under stable conditions and quality reef lighting, Dragon Soul rewards patient collectors with one of the most photogenic and prized Torch displays available in the entire hobby.

Special Considerations

Torch corals extend long sweeper tentacles that can sting neighboring corals. Provide adequate spacing — at least 5–6" from other corals in all directions. Torches will typically tolerate other Torch specimens (same or different morphs) with 3-4" spacing, but Torches can sting adjacent Hammer and Frogspawn Corals despite being in the same Euphyllia family — provide 3–6 inches of clearance when combining Torches with Hammer or Frogspawn specimens. Avoid direct, high-velocity flow which can stress the tissue and prevent full extension. Premium Indonesian Torch morphs like Dragon Soul benefit from quality reef lighting with strong blue and actinic spectrum coverage to maintain peak neon green saturation and purple tip intensity — inadequate or unstable lighting can cause gradual color shift over time. Maintain stable alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium levels with nitrate in the 5–15 ppm range and phosphate in the 0.03–0.10 ppm range, as ultra-low nutrients can cause paling in Indo Torch morphs. Avoid sudden changes in flow, lighting, or chemistry. Brown jelly disease is an occasional risk in the Euphyllia family; handle tissue carefully and maintain excellent water quality at all times.
