About this item
Mini Fire Feather Duster Colony
Mini Fire Feather Duster Colony (Sabellidae sp.) is a striking filter-feeding marine invertebrate known for its vibrant feather-like crowns that extend outward in a circular fan. This variety displays warm red, orange, and pink tones that create a glowing “fire-like” appearance, adding bold color and movement to reef aquariums.
Each colony consists of multiple small tube-dwelling feather dusters anchored to hard substrate, extending their crowns into the water column to capture fine suspended nutrients. These responsive invertebrates quickly retract when disturbed and gradually re-open once conditions stabilize, creating a dynamic and interactive display within the aquarium.
*Note: Mini Feather Dusters typically measure approximately 0.5-1" in length.
Available Sizes
Starter Colony (3 Feather Dusters)
- Small grouping of approximately 3 miniature feather dusters
- Ideal for establishing colonies in new or smaller systems
- Perfect for observing natural extension and feeding behavior
Mature Colony (10+ Feather Dusters)
- Larger established grouping with 10 or more individuals
- Dense, full display with multiple extended crowns
- Great for immediate visual impact in reef aquascapes

Special Considerations
🌱 Propagation
Mini Fire Feather Duster Colonies may expand over time through natural colony growth and tube development, successfully reproducing in aquarium settings:
- New individuals may form within established clusters under stable conditions
- Colonies gradually increase in density with proper feeding and low stress
- Growth rate depends on nutrient availability and overall system maturity

Due to natural variation between specimens and uncertainty at the exact species level, the item you receive may not appear exactly like the one pictured. Photographs are representative examples of general appearance and coloration.
Individual colonies may vary in size, density, crown shape, and coloration intensity depending on origin, age, and environmental conditions.
Approximate colony sizes and counts are provided as guidelines and may vary slightly from the specimen received.
